RunShelf

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 29, 2026. This is a starting draft, not a substitute for review by a lawyer familiar with data protection law where RunShelf operates (including Nigeria's NDPA and Ghana's Data Protection Act) — have it reviewed before relying on it at scale.

This policy explains what data RunShelf collects, why, and how it's handled — both for shop owners using the app and for shoppers buying from a RunShelf storefront.

1. What we collect

  • Shop owners: your email address, shop name and details, and the inventory you scan or enter (product names, prices, photos, quantities).
  • Shoppers:when you place an order, the shop you're buying from collects your name, phone number, and delivery address to fulfil that order.
  • Shelf photos: photos you take to scan inventory are processed to identify products, then kept on your device (and in your account, if you sync) so you can review what was found.
  • Payment details: we never see or store card numbers or mobile money PINs — payment is handled directly by Paystack/Flutterwave.

2. How RunShelf stores your data

RunShelf is local-first: your inventory lives on your device and works fully offline. If you link your shop to sync across devices or sell online, that data is also stored in our database (hosted on Supabase) so it can reach your storefront and other devices you use.

3. Who we share data with

  • Google Gemini— shelf/document photos are sent to Google's Gemini API to identify products. This is how the scanning feature works; photos aren't used for anything beyond that.
  • Paystack / Flutterwave — process payments for storefront orders and RunShelf subscriptions.
  • Email delivery provider — sends order confirmations and account emails.
  • We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with advertisers.

4. Cookies and tracking

RunShelf doesn't use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers. The app stores data locally on your device (IndexedDB) to work offline, and uses your account session to keep you signed in.

5. Your rights

You can ask us to access, export, or delete your account data by contacting privacy@runshelf.co. Shop owners can also delete individual inventory items or photos directly in the app at any time.

6. Children

RunShelf isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

7. Changes

We may update this policy as the product changes; material changes will be reflected here with a new date.
